Potato Medium
Starchy and tuberous, potatoes come from the family of Solanum Tubersum. The crop typically grows ugly and shapeless in almost all of its varieties. Potatoes are medium to large in size and are oval to oblong with a slightly lumpy shape. Its light brown to gold skin is smooth and is known for its wax-like texture. The skin also has a few shallow eyes and is speckled with small brown spots. The flesh is light yellow to gold and is waxy, firm, and dense. When cooked, potatoes have a tender texture and a mild and earthy flavor.
Usage
Fresh potatoes are baked, boiled, or fried and used in a staggering range of recipes: mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, potato dumplings, twice-baked potatoes, potato soup, potato salad and potatoes au gratin, to name a few. Potatoes can be roasted, boiled, stir fried, sauted and put in various chilled salads, pastas and curries, also mix with any vegetables.
